I think this place is one of the best taquerias around. I especially love the salsa and chips, there are quite a few salsas, but beware a couple of them are spicy. The Chile verde is amazing also, I usually get it in a burrito, the best!

I just started working in the area and have been looking for somewhere to get quality Mexican food, my last few attempts were unsuccessful. However today I decided to try taqueria el tapatio, and I'm so glad I tried this place! I got three steak tacos, they loaded the taco with so much steak. The steak was of great quality, not chewy or fatty like their local competitors. Service was really fast, food was hot and flavorful! I will for sure be back anytime I'm in the area and want quality Mexican food!

I was in the mood for Mexican food and so on Saturday for a late lunch we came in for a bite to eat. To drink I ordered a medium Horchata and this was one of the best I've ever had, large portion, sweet and delicious like a dessert, yum! After looking at their extensive menu I ordered a Chimichanga with carnitas, when it arrived at the table, I didn't know where to start, it was the biggest chimichanga I've ever laid eyes on! This thing had some girth, so I cut it in half with the provided utensils since I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it, even tho I'm a big eater! LOL my boyfriend joked if you finish it you should get a prize, well fast forward I didn't, I took half home!
Alright let's get onto trying the burrito..
First bite their was no crunch, I inspected it further and it was grilled not deep fried how a chimichanga should be, but I can only knock off 1 star since it was packed with thick chunks of carnitas, you could tell by their texture and flavor that they marinated them for the perfect amount of time to really bring out the flavor of the meat and provide a nice texture to them! The burrito was also packed with rice, refried beans and some melty cheese! To add to your chimi, it comes with fresh tasting and beyond amazing guac, probably homemade since it's one of the best I've had, and very creamy and beyond amazing Mexican crema! It also comes with Pico de gallo that paired well with the deliciously flavorful free chips from their salsa bar since they didn't have mild salsa available and I don't do spicy!
I would recommend giving this place a shot, the staff were very friendly including our cashier Nancy, prompt and I loved the chairs with artful designs of Mexico! I'll be back to order their tacos they're known for as well! -

Wow, just wow! Both my roommates introduced me to this cute little restaurant off Douglas Blvd in Roseville. I am a fan of Carne Asada Tacos w/ onion and cilantros and Taqueria El Tapatio nailed everything I could ever ask for in a Taco. The beef was just the right amount of crispy. They are very generous with the amount of meat they put in the 2 layers of tortilla. It was just over all very delicious. Definitely on the top of my list for when I crave Tacos. Yummmmm! Oh! How can I forget?! Their Horchata is also REALLLLY good.

I guess I'm finding a new place. The owner read me the riot act for wanting salsa from the cook station. I don't know why anyone would eat from a public salsa or salad bar. Don't you ever wonder why you got sick after eating at a buffet? People! Who knows how many people are sick, those who don't wash their hands, pick up a muffin, chips, even a package of butter after sneezing or coughing in their hands, picking up food and putting it back bc they changed their mind. You DO know how disease is transmitted right? If I get sick bc he did something to my food, he's going to have a problem. It's too bad he had to go off on me bc I REALLY loved his Carnitas. I can't believe he had the audacity to say no one would touch his salsa bar with bare hands. 9.t
